Wine and Love v27 Thursday, Mar 1 2012

It’s Thursday….again! Man, I just can’t believe how the week seems to fly by when I realize it’s Thursday. That mean Wine and Love time! Hosted by the lovely Nora!

Wine:

* I’m not getting enough sleep. When I don’t get enough sleep, that makes me grumpy. Not good for anyone!

* Finding out you aren’t friends with someone and not really know what happened and not being able to find out what went wrong.

* Not making enough money at work. I like my job, don’t get my wrong, but since Courtney moved out, rent and bills have to be split by three instead of four. It’s okay, though. We making it work!

* The weather has been so gross lately =/

Love:

* Monday was the day with ALL the good things: I got this book in the mail (which I WON in the giveaway by this awesome woman); y’all should all read it, it’s so good; I received my Valentine’s Day blog swap from her as well as stuff I ordered from Sephora!

* Tuesday was the day WE KICKED ALL THE ASSES! The troupes at the studio where I bellydance (you can check it out here) had the chance to dance the Bellydance Superstars Club Bellydance show! It was so awesome! We all had a great time. You can check out the Shimmy Peppers video here. Habibi Hips (the troupe that I am in) doesn’t have a video of just us up yet (though there is a video of us on Facebook featuring up around the 14 minute mark). I am working on getting the video from PJ’s phone ASAP. Will hopefully have it soon.

* On Wednesday, I found out I was the first winner in Doni’s  giveaway. I got to pick which prize I wanted (they were all awesome), and I am now going to get 2 months of Birchbox for free!! I am excited about this because I LOVE LOVE LOVE makeup (I would love to be a makeup artist one day) and have always been curious about Birchbox. Now I get to try it and see if I really like it (I’m sure I will since a lot of people I know use it and love it hehe).

* I am also excited about her journal/blog prompts that start in this month!! You should totally do this!!!!

* Excited for the new season of Stratejoy bloggers! Although I didn’t make it this time, I am excited to see what this season brings! Oh, by the way, if you can spare a few minutes, go vote for the First Stratejoy Essay Contest! There are so many amazing ladies up for this!

I know we are doing good Tuesday, Feb 7 2012

I received an amazing e-mail this weekend. So amazing it made me cry…twice. Let me tell you about it.

So, in case you don’t know, I am part of the More Love Letters team. You should really check out the site and get involved. I cannot tell you how amazing it is to be part of this project.

Hannah, the founder of More Love Letters, e-mailed me to tell me that a love letter I sent out touch someone so much that they took it upon themselves to adopt a Love Letter Bundle!! How awesome is that?

When I tell people that I write love letters to people I don’t know, they look at me funny. I then have to explain that I get monthly requests, as do the rest of the team, that people send in for those in their life they think need a bit of encouragement and love. We get their back story and write them a love letter (no, it’s not a mushy type letter). We also leave love letters in our town for people to find. You never know who could use one.

So, if you want to brighten someones day, get your pen and paper ready and check out More Love Letters.

Today is the last day of the 12 days of love letter writing. For the past 12 days, I, along with so many other wonderful people, have received love letter requests for people who really need love this holiday season. This is all part of the wonderful project, More Love Letters .

Today’s Love Letter recipient, Priscilla, recently lost the love of her life, husband of 33 years and father of two boys. Her friends say that she has handled this with courage and grace. They had the kind of love others dream of. Not all of us are lucky enough to find our soul mates. Priscilla found hers. Let’s get out our paper and pens and send Priscilla some love this holiday season.

We all need love in our lives Wednesday, Nov 16 2011

Do you ever get that feeling that you want to good, but you don’t know how? I have an answer for you!

You can start HERE!

I have been involved with this project for some time now (since the beginning?) and am in love with it.

Hand writing is dying. All we mainly use it for these days is to sign checks and credit card receipts. Why not put it to good use? Sure, it may feel strange at first. You don’t even have to write letters if you don’t feel comfortable. You can donate stamps….yes, we are always looking for awesome people to donate stamps. They are very much needed.

The goal of the “love letter writers” is to write letters and leave them all over. We leave them everywhere in hopes that the right person may find them. We leave them in coffee shops, bathroom, counters, mail boxes, in stores.

If you choose to partake in this awesome project (which I so hope that you do), I think that not only will you change someones’ day, but you will find that you are changed, as well. All in the name of  LOVE!

So, go to the website and get involved. You will not be sorry.

I discovered the #Trust 30 30-day writing challenge at raplwaldoemerson.me from Berrak. You should participate. This is from yesterdays prompt.

To believe your own thought, to believe that what is true for you in your private heart is true for all men, that is genius. – Ralph Waldo Emerson

What is burning deep inside of you? If you could spread your personal message RIGHT NOW to 1 million people, what would you say?

(Author: Eric Handler)

I have this burning desire to tell you to shut the hell up. I have a burning desire to punch someone in the face. My birthday is in 14 days, and I really could care less about it because everyone, including myself, is so worried about the day after. I want to be excited about this but I’m not. I know this sounds greatly selfish but I feel like my birthday is moot.

Okay, so that was rash. I just had to get it out.

Really, if I could spread my personal message right now, it would be to never give up. Keep try. Even if you fail, at you can say you tried.

That is all.
