It’s Wine and Love time!!! Check out Suki’s blog and participate! It’s fun!

Wine:

* I was 5 minutes late for work this morning. They thought I was involved in an accident. I wasn’t- just that everyone at Wal-Mart had the same idea I did and went to check out at the same time. I have to remember to call if I’m going to be late- my fault. I’m not in trouble or anything.  I just HATE being late- it causes me unnecessary stress, and I freak out over NOTHING.

* I let ALL the little things get to me. See above.

Love:

* My new Maybelline Color Show nail polish I bought! PJ helped me pick out GoGoGreen. I also have Paradise Plum and Saphire something (can’t remember the name =/).

* I’ve been getting much needed sleep. LOTS of it.

* THIS! Seriously! You NEED to read it! Nicole is amazing and inspiring, and I really hope to meet her one day.

* SheReadsTruth.com. I really like this website and the reading plans.

It’s that time of the week again: Wine and Love time!! What’s on your list this week?

W(h)ine:

* I have a fever blister. I only get them when I am either a) out in the sun too long or b) stressed. I’m trying RELEEV and Abreva. Hopefully it goes away soon. I hate when I get them.

* I really need to start taking my vitamins again. Especially Lysine.

* I haven’t been feeling all that good lately. I think PMS is kicking full force, and I might be coming down with something.

Love:

* I am LOVING my new headband(s) from ModCloth. I ordered the red/white polka dot one and just love it!! I received the deer headband as part of a BirchBox and loved it so much I had to get more. I’ll definitely be buying more!!

* My new shades from Stunner of the Month are awesome!!! I love them!! I love big sunglasses and am so happy that I am able to wear them.

* My 4th of July was good. Here’s pictures to prove it:

What I learned this weekend Monday, Jun 18 2012

This weekend was a blur. Between practice and Gala on Saturday and Father’s Day Sunday, it just flew by. But, I would have to say I learned something.

What did you learn? you might be asking (well, I hope you are because then what would be the point of this post).

Lesson learned: don’t do anything rash on the day you have a huge performance.

Now, I’m not saying that cutting my hair was wrong, at all. I actually love it, now. But, sitting that chair, I thought I made a mistake. I had been wanting to but my hair for A VERY LONG TIME (just ask anyone who knows me, it was to the point of annoyance…even I can admit that), but I don’t do good for me. I’m always helping someone else out so my BFF took care of that for me. After practice and before lunch on Saturday, I was told that we were making a detour. I knew she wasn’t going to tell me so I just went along for the ride, never crossed my mind that we were going to the AVEDA Institute. After getting out the car and heading inside, we walk up to the counter and very nice young lady asked if we needed help. We told her that I wanted to cut my hair and asked if they had any appointments available that day. She said that they had appoints opens at 1:30 and 2. I knew that if I didn’t do it then, it was going to be forever before I cut my hair. I swallowed down my nervousness and scheduled the appointment for 2.

The time came and before I knew it, I was sitting the chair with a cape around me and wet hair in clips. She made the first cut, and I knew there was no going back, not that I wanted her to. After she cut off a majority of my hair, Elaine comes to see me after my manicure. She asked if I was okay (Yes, I was) and if I liked it (Yes, I did). I just felt like crying. I think it was because it was such a drastic change. Short hair is nothing new to me (my om had my sister and I’s hair cut really short when we were younger). I just haven’t had my hair cut or this short in some time. To be honest, it took me a few days to get use to it and to really fall in love with it (though  I’m not 100% in love with the flip bang in the front).

I’m really happy that Elaine did this for me (because there was no way I going to this for myself). It now actually takes me longer to get ready in the morning because I have to actually DO my hair, which leads me to this question: what are good products for short hair? I need help!!

I got a hair cut!!! Sunday, Jun 17 2012

I cut all my hair off, y’all!!!!

My face needs your help Monday, Apr 2 2012

Back in March, I decided to take on cleaning my face every night before going to bed, along with taking my contacts out and brushing/flossing my teeth.

It has been great, getting into a routine and taking care of my face, teeth and eyes.

My only issue has now that my face is really dry and my pors are HUGE. When I was younger, I had really oily skin. I didn’t know that I had dry skin until I was having my makeup done for a friends portfolio. She was putting liquid foundation on me when she tells me that she can tell that I have dry skin by the way the brush pulled.

I started using an astringent by Clean and Clear, the toner from the Walgreens brand ProActive and Clean and Clear moisturizer with acne medication (which makes my face feel cool when it’s on). I really think these products are too harsh on my skin, but I don’t know what to use.

Anyone have any suggestions/advice? I would love to continue with this routine but am scared that I’m messing up my face.
